ππ» General approach
There is a good balance, however, there is not much hand drawing or a strong push to analogue methods of working.
π Student support
The support is good with monthly sessions with the course lead to give feedback. As part of the apprenticeship you are assigned a skills reviewer to record progress with your employer. he staff are open and always happy to receive feedback.
π οΈ Facilities
The facilities are all high quality especially because of the new library building, there is also a workshop, laser cutting, 3D printing and a photography studio space.
π Application Process
After getting my employer the application to the university included a portfolio and personal statement submission.
π Insider Tips
Always book rooms and equipment such as the laser cutter at least a week in advance!
Try your best to log everything down for your OTJ (off the job learning) very important for end point assessment. Donβt slack on that. And focus on your uni work on weekends. And keep weekday evening for networking on catching up on sleep/ gym / sketching. Etc
