👐🏻 General approach
The course is very creative and has slightly more focus on design than technical aspects, but there is still a lot of focus on this side too! There is a lot of emphasis on studio culture, so that we collaborate naturally with other students while working - this helps us to improve our work from both feedback and viewing the work of others.
💖 Student support
We are each assigned a Personal Tutor for the entire degree, who we can go to with any concerns! Additionally, all module tutors are incredibly helpful and accomodating if we have any concerns or questions - the environment is very comfortable and open!
In first year we are given a Peer Mentor, which is an older student that can give us advice and general suggestions or information! There are also Course Representatives that can gather feedback from students and are able to relay this to staff at regular meetings!
There's a range of wellbeing and mental health support, both in APL (Architecture, Planning & Landscape) and throughout the school!
🛠️ Facilities
Each year we are given printer credit that most people manage to stay within, meaning that we do not need to pay for printing ourselves unless we wish to use ArchiPrint - this is the set of printers for larger scale pieces!
📄 Application Process
Following the UCAS application, a portfolio is requested by the university. Updated information of this portfolio can be found on the Architecture page on the Newcastle University website. No interview is required.
